For a few weeks I have driven by the construction site of a long awaited addition to Dacula's ever-growing landscape of retail establishments...welcome Chick-fil-a!!! But never did I expect such a welcoming party. You may know about the First 100 but this was a new and exciting adventure concept to me. The first 100 customers at a new Chick-fil-a receive a prize of 52 free meals at Chick-fil-a for the next year. With as unbelievably delicious as that sounds, I'm not sure that the prize is the best part. In order to be one of the first 100, people CAMP OUT in the Chick-fil-a parking lot for days before the grand opening. And the fabulous people of Chick-fil-a serve as hosts for what seems to be a really great party.
My lovely daughter, Sweet T, and I stumbled upon the Chick-fil-a campsite last night and decided to stop and see what it was all about. We had a great time walking around and meeting some very kind and fun people, both locals and travelers.
We met an especially nice couple who have made the First 100 a regular event. Jake Knupp and his wife Libby have been a part of the First 100 at 84 Chick-fil-a grand openings. We had a great time talking with them and Libby even shared her dinner with us, Chick-fil-a sandwiches of course. She had great insight to share about the importance of living each day one at a time and enjoying the simple things in life.
| There were plenty of board and card games going on, as well as corn hole, four square, soccer, football and kick the can. And the dj kept the party going with fun tunes to dance to as well. |
So being a part of a Chick-fil-a First 100 is now on my Bucket List!
